Can I be pregnant after taking plan B during Ovulation??

I certainly hope not. That's why I took the damn pill to begin with.

After being a user of the Merina IUD for 5 years. I wanted to get away from any hormonal birth control after experiencing Thyroid complications. So condoms where the way to go or so we thought.  After about 6 months of using we had our first major pregnancy scare on Sept 21 when it broke and he came inside me that evening.

My journey takes me to 3 local pharmacy the next morning(Sept 22)  nobody either A) carries it or B) refused to sell it and refused to tell me where I could purchase it. What a load of crap!! My  72 hour prime time is dwindling as we speak.
Luckily another woman who heard my auguring with the pharmacy and  told me to go to the health department where they had it for half price! As soon as my classes are over Friday Morning I head to the Health Department and get my Plan B One Step for the price of $20. That is waaayyy better then the pharmacy price of $50+!!!

I use a period tracking app that  does NOT show when I am ovulating- just my period. The nurse at the HD kindly punched my information in and then said "OOOOOoo". Wait, what? Why is she saying OOOOooo??
Come to find out I have started my Fertile time. Oh great. She then tells me that I now have about a 50/50 chance of the pill actually working because I am so close to Ovulation. I take the pill with the little cup of water she provided and  left feeling indifferent.

Naturally, Because I have just taken a triple dose hormone pill me and the boyfriend come to the conclusion that because it is in my system the pill will be effective at stopping any future eggs from becoming fertilized. WOO HOO free pass! We have unprotected Sex later that Friday night.

By the way:  Feel free to leave your stories. It's nice to hear from others going through the same things

  1. I took Plan B 48 hours after unprotected sex. I was scheduled to ovulate1-2 days after I took the plan b. Since taking the Plan B, i have had period like pains, tailbone achs, and slight sudden nausea. Lastly, I haven't gotten my period as yet.

For those who have gotten pregnant after taking Plan B, what symptoms did you experience (and when), how early did you receive a positive hpt/blood test and was it a normal vs. ectopic pregnancy?

  2. Actually its not safe to assume youre in the clear for unprotected sex after plan b. The hormones work by preventing egg release, but if you have already ovulated, the bullet is out of the chamber, no going back. There is a natural chance you may not get pregnant, even if you were post ovulation, but the more sperm you expose it to, the greater the chance of pregnancy.
